The University of Idaho Law Library remains committed to getting materials needed by patrons and has two systems in place for doing so, Summit* and Interlibrary Loan.** If a material is not owned by the Law Library or the University of Idaho, it can be obtained from other university libraries, as part of the Summit service, or through interlibrary loan. Read more about these services and how to place requests at our website.
*Summit is a service that allows University of Idaho affiliates to borrow books from other libraries in the Orbis Cascade Alliance consortium of northwestern academic libraries. Use this option if it is available for the item you require AND you are based in Moscow. If you are based in Boise, you should opt instead for an interlibrary loan (see below.)
**Interlibrary loan is a service through which the Law Library will make its best effort to borrow an item (book, journal article, etc.) from a library outside the Orbis Cascade Alliance. Use this option when Summit is not available for the item you require OR if you are based in Boise. (Unfortunately, Summit couriers do not travel to Boise.)
