Public Patrons: A Guide to Services: Attorney Services

Services for Attorneys

The law libraries provide a broad array of print and online materials for Idaho attorneys, courts, and agencies. Some materials are in print, but the majority are available through the libraries’ subscription databases including a publicly available version of Westlaw and Nexis Uni, a version of Lexis.  These services include KeyCite and Shepards.  The law libraries also provide access to HeinOnline, a digital collection of law journal articles and primary and secondary law of all sorts.

There are two research librarians at each location.  These faculty members teach legal research to the students and all have a law degree in addition to a library science degree. They welcome practitioners and the interesting and challenging questions they confront in their law practice.

The Moscow location has a collection of Idaho Supreme Court Records and Briefs dating from 1910-2009 in paper. Staff will retrieve and scan briefs for attorneys, courts and Idaho agencies. The libraries host a digital Idaho Supreme Court Records and Briefs database from 2009-present. Records and briefs can be downloaded through the website. Both libraries will also copy and send cases, statutes, rules and articles. Invoices are payable on receipt. Fees are listed below.
